Cold and Flu Page Redesign

Lead Product Designer working with design management and user research. Responsible for presenting to business and handing off specifications to development team.
ABOUT:
The COVID-19 pandemic has made getting a flu vaccine more important than ever. This project was a redesign of the MY DOCTOR ONLINE cold and flu prevention page.
BREIF:
Redesign the cold and flu vaccine package, starting with the prevention page.
Update page to new design standards
Display important changes to the vaccine program
Display COVID-19 protocol
Display new vaccine methods
Display availability of each vaccine type
Help users find a vaccine near them
Help users quickly find a flu vaccine if their preferred location is not available.
DESIGN:
COVID-19 has drastically changed the way that people receive care. Many changes were made to the flu vaccine program that need to be communicated to users. This year there are new ways to get a flu shot, important protocols that patients need to follow to receive a flu shot, and new clinic specific instructions. These changes required a redesign of the cold and flu package. This redesign needed to be designed, built, and deployed quickly before the flu season started.

APPROACH:
Because this was a quick redesign I used existing research and updated UX best practices. I identified quick wins to help guide the redesign:
Use new design standards
Responsive web design
Improved site hierarchy
Reduce friction on location selection
Surface high level facts about vaccines and COVID
Make content more scannable
COLLABORATION:
I worked closely with the Health Engagement team and Development to quickly design and iterate. Rapid prototyping was crucial to making robust prototypes to validate designs with unmoderated remote studies.
This project is highly visible and is continuously getting planned enhancements.

Historically low bounce rate, well below industry standard
Double digit increase in page views from previous year
Large increase in time spent on page from previous year
